As a young girl, Shirley first saw the work of The Salvation Army and decided to one day help the organization’s cause. The Salvation Army’s disaster assistance and it’s generosity during the Christmas season has motivated her to continue her support. For 26 years, Shirley was a missionary and Registered Nurse in the Republic of Mali. Her other charitable interests include her local church and the Appalachian Christian Project. Shirley hopes her gifts to The Salvation Army in Canton, Ohio will enable it continue their Christian-based work with the poor.
